North Carolina Volunteer Firefighter Killed in Crash

WTVD reported that Siler City Fire Department volunteer firefighter Joshua Woods was killed while responding to a call. The 24-year old was travelling on Silk Hope Road when his vehicle crossed into the left lane before going off the road.

Troopers from the North Carolina Highway Patrol told WTVD and WNCN that Woods’ vehicle struck a ditch and hit multiple trees. He was wearing his seatbelt and it appears that speed was a factor in the fatal crash.
